A New Earth – What’s the Buzz?

What’s all this about a “NEW EARTH”?

As a reader who draws from a multitude of sources, including new age channeled works, there emerges a message that is fairly consistent describing a transition towards a “New Earth”. This post attempts to make some points about what that is, or what that means.

To summarize, in briefest terms, three points:

• The Earth, along with the inhabitants upon it, and especially, human beings, are presently undergoing a “shift” in consciousness towards a higher dimension.
• We have many helpers here assisting us in what they consider to be a crucial and important time as this transition, or evolution, occurs. The similar messages are being conveyed to those who are receptive to the message in a multitude of ways and forms including new age channeled works, the concept of I AM or Christ-consciousness, and various “experiencers” (contactees, near-death, etc.). Though this is a very gradual process requiring effort, across the planet people are waking up.
• There will be a splitting, resulting in a new earth in which higher dimensional (human) beings will transition into a world of harmony of love, peace, and oneness.

Following, is the Biblical quote out of the Book of Revelations which describes the new heaven and the new Earth:

A New Heaven and a New Earth (Revelations 21)

21 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.  I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.  And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.   ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

⁵ He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

⁶ He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. The earth is passing through the throes of a tremendous new birth, and in the few years just ahead, will be in a transition period, for it is changing now, in a Cosmic Way, from the attitude of war into that of peace, from hatred to Love, from selfishness to unselfishness, and into the full recognition that in the future the people must exert strength enough to live according to the ‘Law of Love.’

“The hour strikes in the evolution of every planet and its humanity, when they must express the full peace, harmony, Perfection, and the Divine Plan of the system to which they belong. Others I’ve read about their view of a New Earth include Claude Swanson, Eckert Tolle, and Delores Cannon.

What do I think?

Not sure. I listen to so many New Age spokespersons who seem so sure this is in the process of happening and yet there’s still war and human suffering and agendas playing out that are questionable, at best. Some see the “new Earth” as a metaphor, perhaps related to creating your own positive reality. Whether humanity destroys itself or not is still in question. Whether technology threatens our human potential is still in question. The way things play out are complex and mysterious and we cannot predict the future because of humanity’s free will. And then there’s also the question about time and if everything is actually happening all at once, how does that factor in to those who claim a New Earth is coming in the future?
