Father Thomas Keating overlapped with Thomas Merton in his adoption of Eastern spiritual traditions of contemplation and meditation which he promoted using the term “Centering Prayer”. He is a brilliant thinker and theologian-Trappist monk. His centering prayer movement has taken off among Christians, especially in the Episcopal Church. This could be an important step along our path to one world religion. Keating died in 2018 at the age of 94.
