Peace Pilgrim was a Modern Hero

In the youtube video, below, please find “The Spirit of Peace”, an early documentary about Peace Pilgrim. Her true name was Mildred Lisette Norman and she lived from 1908-1981. The video lasts 1 hour and 11 minutes.

Since it is my view that inner peace (which leads to world peace), is the culmination of spirituality, I can’t say enough about what this woman stood for. Thankfully, a group of dedicated individuals have formed an organization which has provided for all of her materials to be offered open source. They will mail books and booklets free of charge to any interested individuals.

Following, are quotes by “Peace Pilgrim”:

“There is a magic formula for resolving conflicts. It is this: Have as your objective the resolving of the conflict, not the gaining of advantage. There is a magic formula for avoiding conflicts. It is this: Be concerned that you do not offend, not that you are not offended.”

“No one can find inner peace except by working, not in a self- centered way, but for the whole human family.”

“We are all cells in the same body of humanity.”

“Pure love is a willingness to give without a thought of receiving anything in return. The way of peace is the way of love. Love is the greatest power on earth. It conquers all things.”

“Look within for your answers. Your divine nature—your inner light — knows all the answers. Spend your time bringing your life into harmony with divine law. Work on overcoming evil with good, falsehood with truth, hatred with love.”

“Live in the present. Do the things that need to be done. Do all the good you can each day. The future will unfold.”

“If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought.”

Suggestion: Order the booklet “Steps Towards Inner Peace” and keep it on your bedside reading table; distribute them to friends and family. It is an excellent booklet for anyone interested in living while cultivating the values it requires to attain inner peace, which are core values of most spiritual teachings as well.
