Canadian mystic, Daniel Schmidt, was interviewed (below) on Buddha at the Gaspump. I highly recommend both the interview, below, as well as his films.
“From youtube… Daniel is the creator of the award-winning film “Inner Worlds Outer Worlds” as well as the ongoing “Samadhi” series. He is also the founder of the Awaken The World initiative whose purpose is to bring the ancient teachings of Samadhi back to the world for free (in as many languages as possible) Daniel’s approach combines self-inquiry with traditional forms meditation so that participants have the opportunity to simultaneously realize their transcendent nature, and to purify themselves of conditioned patterns. The pathless path is to realize an ever-deeping development process within the self structure, and to simultaneously realize what is always already beyond the self structure. Samadhi is when the world that is constantly changing merges or unites with the changeless.”
Schmidt’s first film, “Inner Worlds Outer Worlds”, produced in 2012, is available to watch for free on Roku, Tubi, IMDb, and other channels.
Subjects included in the film are:
- Fractals and pattern recognition.
- Creativity is our highest nature.
- The Akashic field.
- Layers of vibration are constantly changing and exchanging information with the Akash.
- The primordial spiral.
- The golden ratio… found in diatoms, zinnias, more.
- Nature is efficient with beauty and symmetry.
- LI – the ancient China word for study of patterns in Nature meaning “a dynamic system”.
- Labyrinths.
- Branching patterns.

- There is bliss from stillness – consciousness of the heart.
Next, Schmidt’s film “Samadhi” is on youtube (below)
Part 1. Samadhi: Maya the Illusion of the Self, is the first installment in the Samadhi film series, and addresses the question of why the ancient wisdom teachings are relevant in today’s world more than ever. Discover your true self and shed the personas that we as human beings hide behind. An ancient Sanskrit word, Samadhi alludes to the mystical or transcendent union that is at the root of all spiritual paths and self-inquiry. The saints, sages, and awakened beings throughout history have all learned the wisdom of self-surrender, that which is beyond name and form… Samadhi. The Samadhi Part 1 follows Canadian filmmaker Daniel Schmidt’s critically acclaimed film Inner Worlds Outer Worlds.
Samadhi Part 2 (It’s not what you think) is the second installment of a series of films exploring Samadhi, an ancient Sanskrit word which points toward the mystical or transcendent union that is at the root of all spirituality and self inquiry.
Next, Samadhi Part 3. It seems that if one wished to have a personal retreat day alone in one’s meditation room, listening to all three of these “Samadhi” films in succession would set the mood for a very still and empty meditation.
Finally, here is Schmidt and his team’s website, Awaken the World .com. He believes we are here to evolve our consciousness and awaken. These films bring many truths together. Truths that evolve and create and celebrate. It is a blessing that they are available free of charge. Kudos to their creator, Daniel Schmidt.
In sum, I am reminded of the saying, “Consciousness informs itself through its creations.”
