I see some of today’s new parents keeping their infants stimulated to learn by giving them bright images and toys to focus on. In my opinion, infants and kids also need to have idle time to daydream. When I was a child I was required to nap each day so I would spend time in bed staring out my window which was right next to my bed… studying bugs or sky or tree or bird. I remember this fondly and think it was an important part of my childhood.
