Practice: Live From Your Heart Space

In my opinion, learning to open your heart, remove heart blockages, and live from your heart and not your head is the work of this lifetime. Once your heart is opened, the rest falls into place… peace, bliss, compassion, and living a life filled with love.

This practice is very simple. Learn to focus your attention on your heart. Get comfortable with this feeling. Be calm and relaxed and slow your breathing. Think of something you are grateful for, or deeply in love with. Say to yourself that there is no place you’d rather be right here, right now and focus entirely upon the here and now. Breathe in and out of your heart. Let your awareness surround your heart a full 360 degrees, including opening of the back of your heart, the space where we often try to protect ourselves. Feel a spaciousness in your heart, which is the opposite of contraction, the state we are in when we have built walls around our heart. In this expanded state, we are giving and loving rather than stingy and unapproachable. Sometimes, we can actually feel a spot of “pain” in the heart space as we focus on it. Over time, with this practice, that pain will dissipate and you will rid yourself of some ego-related pain that you are storing in your heart.

Next, is just a matter of using this state of being in the heart space and repeating it often enough to teach yourself to be in this space most all of the time.

You might set up a timer for this.

Once an hour, focus on your heart space for 3 minutes. Try to do this every day for at least 2 weeks, perhaps 3 months. This would total about 36 minutes a day if practiced for 12 hours per day.

After you’ve completed your goal, ask yourself if your life has improved. Do you feel better inside? Has the world around you also changed? Are you happier? Do you have more wisdom of knowing?

Near death experiencers tell us that the other side is “LOVE”. Consciousness is love. Unconditional love that is all pervading. We need to re-connect with this while we are here in the physical.

Remember this: THE ANSWER TO EVERY QUESTION IS LOVE.
