Dr. Elaine Pagels is an amazingly articulate spokeswoman for analysis of the Gnostic texts discovered in the Nag Hammadi jar discovered in 1945.
Her analysis of the Gospel of Thomas’s message in contrast to the Gospel of John suggests that the Gospel of Thomas, which was not included in the Bible, gives us the message that it is the light within us all, the divine spark, which is our gift and unity with God if we can allow ourselves to discover it.
